Spring has sprung – that’s a wrap on Q1 2025. The last three months have felt like 10 lifetimes. Not much happening out there these days, huh? 🙂
I won big in Q1 2025 by completing a writing course.
I pounded out 14 posts, and I wrote over 10,000 words. That’s big for me! Check out all the posts on my site: parrishticer.com.
That was in addition to the design stuff I produced for clients: a killer Proposal Design cranked out in three weeks, a cool logo for a new company, and all kinds of fun things at PRNTDxP.
However, the deliberate writing, and more importantly, the publishing of the writing, has helped me grow as a designer for digital marketers.
Writing is a crucial component in any successful visual design for marketing purposes, and practicing writing has benefited my creative thinking and output.
I’ve always journaled and kept a notebook handy most of the time. It’s a habit I learned from working at Beck & Company back in the day. But, I’ve never concentrated on publishing the writing.
By focusing on publishing the writing and being comfortable with shitty first drafts, my writing and, conversely, my thinking have become sharper.
Plus, like anything you practice, I’m getting better at it, and banging out 600 words is no problem – my shitty first drafts are slightly less shitty now.
Take time to celebrate your Q1 2025 wins. Cheers!
